About me

My name is Tim Davies I am an old school punk from Ashton-under-Lyne. I used to be lead singer/songwriter for a band called 3CR (Three Cornered Rug) but left in October 2003.
I was in the band for four years all told, two as lead singer. If you ever saw 3CR live you might remember songs like ‘Gary Glitter What A Shitter’, ‘All I Wanna Be Is A Porno Star’, 'Oldham's Burning', 'Murder Is My Hobby' and ‘Homeless and Giro Day’, which I wrote myself. The song playing is me singing 'Cannibal Killer' which I also wrote in my time with 3CR.

Punk4life.co.uk (Originally punk4life.com) was created in September 2004 to give the lesser known bands a hand with publicity because they always have a hard time getting out to the masses.

I know there are a lot of punk sites about but I hope this site will be your one stop site for all things punk.
I know first hand how hard it is for local bands to make an impression so this site might be of some help by providing a chance for you to post gig listings and help to sell your merchandise which all helps to pay for the vast quantities of beer you drink.

Who You Looking At? Better Not Be Me

I can be spotted at most local gigs and basically I try to get to as many gigs as possible regardless of where they are.
As I said earlier my main object for both punk4life.co.uk and the newly created Punk4life Records is to give the lesser known bands a hand with publicity via the website and to give them a chance to appear on one of the future Punk4life Records compilation CDs. Bands like UK Subs don't need any help with publicity, they are already established. Most bands on my site are working their bollocks off to gain recognition. You must support the lesser known bands if you want the the punk scene to stay healthy. Don't just turn up at Wasted/Rebellion every year, get off your arses and watch local bands. You will be amazed how good some of them are.

The website consists of the following:

Reviews/photos of gigs will be posted and who knows one of our reviewers/photographers might be at one of your gigs to do a review or interview for punk4life.co.uk.

There is also a video page. Bands can send in videos and there are also some live band performances which were filmed and edited by myself.

If you have a CD, DVD or vinyl that you are trying to promote, then send a copy to the address on the Contact page and it will appear there after it has been reviewed by me. It will be linked to wherever they can get hold of a copy.

There is an mp3 jukebox where bands can send in tracks and visitors to the site can listen.

My first video band interview for punk4life was posted recently. Are your band up for the next one?

Bands/Venues/Promotors can also advertise their forthcoming punk attractions on the forum or if you email or post me a flyer (Click here for contact details) it will be posted on the site.

There is a page dedicated to up and coming bands 'Hall Of Fame'. Any bands appearing here will have a band photo and brief band history. Their own website will also be linked.

There will also be a special 'Feature' every so often.

There is a comprehensive links page.

There is a punk shop for any business that wants to advertise their punk related products.

I am also open to any suggestions you have for this site so if you have just email me and I’ll see what I can do.

Cheers Tim (Punk4life Site owner)
