For
any of you who haven't heard of Splitters before, they
are a Ska band from Leicester, and a very good Ska band
at that. Good punk bands are everywhere but it's a lot
harder to find a really good Ska band.
This album 'Good Time Trouble' is an absolute
must for all you Ska fans out there. It oozes quality
in the traditional Ska style throughout the whole album.
There is a real upbeat pace to the album and the reggae
influences are a bit more obvious than a lot of other
Ska bands who err more towards punk or pop.
I thought of the 11 tracks on the album 'Reject
The Guilt' ,'1,2 OR 3' and 'Work Faster'
were the best but on the whole this is a great album
and well produced too.

This
is dun 2 def's self titled debut album which is released
on the bands own d generate record label. The 16 tracks
on this album are a real mixed bag. They range from the
more slower tracks through to the fast and furious, some
even have a bit of a metally sound. Musically the album
itself is pretty good but I myself thought the vocals
are a bit flat and lack aggression. I thought the best
tracks off the album were 'PC Smith', 'Drinking
And Fighting', 'Lights Out' and 'Done
To Death'. With a bit more aggression especially
on songs like 'Drinking And Fighting' I think
dun 2 def could sound even sound better. They definately
have talent and it only takes small changes to change
a good band into a great band.

'PNUK'
which is Airbomb's second album is excellent. The album
name is obviously a piss take of the brand name fcuk.
This is old school punk as it's supposed to be played,
fast with aggression. Airbomb who are from Romford are
a class act and with 17 tracks on this album, it's great
value. My favourite songs off the album were 'Tear
Up My Brain', 'Be There', 'Kill You
Dead' and 'I'm So Sick (Monday Morning)'
but on the whole it's a great album and of the 17 tracks
I found it hard to find one duff track. It's well produced
and very listenable. With the future punk scene in the
hands of bands like Airbomb, it's a safe bet that punks
will still be pogoing for many years yet. I definately
recommend this album. Even if you haven't heard Airbomb
before, if you like old school punk, you'll probably like
them.

If
you like your Oi then 'Boys In The City' by The
Dead End Boys will definately appeal to you. This band
from Baltimore US have the sound of a British Oi band.
They are in your face Oi at it's very best. From the the
first track 'Just Another Fucking Day' to the
seventh and last track 'Pride No Shame' this
mini album oozes class and aggression. The title track
'Boys In The City' and the other tracks 'Baltimore
Blues', 'In The Fire', 'Trained To Kill'
and 'Too Much Trouble' are great songs too. If
these guys were based in the UK they would definately
have a future as for me they are every bit as good as
some of the well established UK Oi bands. I know because
they headlined one of Punk4life Promotions gigs and they
were excellent. The singer is Aggression personified.
