This
is the first offering I have heard by Anonymous Tip
who are from Middlesex. 'Greetings From Wasteland'
is a 6 track E.P. which has a distinctly American feel
to it. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with US
bands that get labelled as punk but most are just like
clones of each other. In general British punk bands
are a lot more diverse than their US counterparts.
Of the tracks on the CD my favourite track was 'Slap
Happy Bappy'. The other tracks 'Big Brown Bear',
'Pro Spec Confession', 'Blame Santa'
and 'Lemon Juice On My Nipples'
are very American in style and 'Space Fluid'
which starts off with a reggae intro just isn't in keeping
with the CD. I would like to see more young British
bands who sound British and less trying to sound American.
I must admit the production on the CD is excellent and
if you prefer your punk with the US flavour then there
is a good chance you will like this CD.

The
Zero Point are from Denmark and this '25 Years Anniversary
Show' CD is released to celebrate that fact.
There are 6 tracks on the CD which I must admit I really
liked. For those of you who haven't heard of The Zero
Point, and that included me until recently, the music
on this CD in general is fast and furious with a heavy
guitar sound and aggressive vocals. The CD starts off
with 'Life's A Bitch (And Then You Die)' which
is slower than the other tracks but has a singalong
chorus, the other tracks 'Mr Right Guy', 'Get
Out', 'No Compromise' and 'Working
Class Hero' are all good songs with plenty of aggression
and a good guitar sound. The remaining song 'The Front
Line' alternates from a slow tempo gaining speed for
the chorus. A pretty good effort.

'Express
Train To Doomsville' is yet another gem from Eastfield.
The band have always retained that fun element with Burt
Reynolds and David Icke ('Burt Reynolds Rides Again'
and 'The World According David Icke') being given
the Eastfield treatment on the CD. They also still manage
to keep the trains theme with 'God's Plastic Railway'
being the first track on the album. Their songs are
always played with an upbeat tempo which has that distinctly
Eastfield sound. Other songs on the album are 'Mick
Murphy's Dirty Bar', 'It's Gotta Be A Record
Breaker', 'Grant The Lumberjack', 'Humour
Exclusion Zone', 'Sharks Against Surfers',
'Slam!', 'How To Rip Off Your Band Mates',
'Another Boring Eastfield Song' and 'Fall
Of Iron'.
This CD oozes the quality which Eastfield have got into
a habit of producing.

Well
who would have thought it, a punk band from Latin America.
I saw Lambrusco Kids at Wasted Morecambe and I thought
they were one of the best bands there. The band might
be from Sao Paulo in Brazil, but they are as punk as anything
you'll hear in the UK.
The album 'Jogos & Trapacas' is mostly sang
in portugese with a few tracks in English which include
a decent cover of the UK Subs song 'Stranglehold'.
Don't be put off that most of the songs are in portugese
because I found myself singing along to most of their
songs even though I didn't have a clue what the songs
were about. I thought the best tracks of the 16 on the
album were 'Quero Um Pouco De Sorte', 'Lixo'
and 'Lambrusco Kid' which have a bit of a Ramones
feel to them. A Great CD.
