OUT OF A BLACK POOL’ is a split E.P. that has two tracks by SICK56 and one by HIGGINS. I thought the guys would have to go some to go some to come up with new material as good as 'Recipe For Disaster' but they have. The first track ‘Violence’ is fast and furious with the angry vocals of nige hammering home the title. The second track 'Crash & Burn' another fast and furious song with an excellent guitar sound and drumming that really burns off the calories. They have become instantly with their own distinctive sound.
I hadn't heard anything by HIGGINS before this E.P. and to be honest I didn't like the long narration at the start but when 'Cool Britannia' gets going it's not bad at all. It is a re-work of the classic California Uberalles.

'Texas Idiot E.P.' is the first thing I have heard by AFS and I must admit that I really liked their CD. The first track 'Texas Idiot' is quite a catchy tune, which starts the E.P. off well. 'God Squad' the second track is about what we all hate, those bible bashing bastards the salvation army. My favourite track is track 3 'Anorexic Princess Of Pop' it's another good sing along with more good lyrics and great music. The last track on the E.P. 'Skate To Live' might make you think that these guys are just another bunch of skateboard punks. I can assure you that these guys play punk not the skateboard vatiety. The Growling vocals of Munki Boi really make this a great CD.

Gnarly dude is not strictly a punk compilation but there are some great punk bands on the CD. The music ranges from drum and bass through extreme metal, electronic techno, punk oi and old school punk.
The bands I think punks would like are Lowlife UK, Sick56 and spinbox (Who I had never heard of before playing the CD). I also thought AK Riot were quite good. The total list of the bands on the CD is :

Lowlife UK, Streem, AK Riot, Burt Cokain & Nirbanana-International, Mishkin, Spinfire, Tortoise Waltz, Sack, SICK56, Snowdome, Spinbox, Slamaster J, Worm.

Ah Eastfield one of my favourite bands. You might think that i'm biased but if I think something is shit i'll tell you. Well as it 'appens this CD is up to their usual excellent standards with that excellent guitar sound that can only be Eastfield. The Title of the E.P. 'One Wrong Can Move A People And A Wronged People Can Move The World' has got to be the longest title i've ever seen. There is the usual reference to trains and plenty of humour in the lyrics and it is another essential addition to any punks collection.

Track Listing: 1. Off The Rails 2. The Second fastest Cycle Courier In London 3. Hearing Nothing About A Revolution. 4. Air-Con One 5. Elvis Is Dead And Jazz Is Shit
