This is the first of 7 releases this month by the captain and a good time for you to get some pressies sorted for Christmas.
'Faster Cheaper And Better Looking' is Chelsea's first studio album for 10 years. The band who now have 3 original members plus Tony Barber from The Buzzcocks have really got back on track with this album. It is fast, melodic and the lyrics are excellent. This is punk from the golden age, '77 style, pulling no punches and in yer face. This is in my opinion their finest album to date. There are 12 tracks on the album and it was really hard to pick a favourite because it's all so good. My personal favourites were 'Living In The Urban UK', 'Sod The War', 'Bad Advice', 'Sliding Down A Stream' and 'If We Knew Then'. The band have set a new benchmark with this superb album.

Menace's 'Punk Singles Collection' has 25 tracks (4 bonus tracks) and if there is anything you're missing then it will probably be on this album. One of the earliest punk bands formed (1976) they didn't quite achieve the iconic status of similar bands like Cockney Rejects and Sham 69. This album shows that a lot of their material is just as good as their more recognised counterparts. I hadn't listened to Menace for quite a while but after listening to this album it really brought it back to me how good they really are. They have that really raw edge that only the first bands on the scene had.
Basically everything is on this good value album plus 'In Gods We Trust' (Oi! Album Version), USA versions of 'C&A', '35 Bus' and a cover of 'Babylons Burning'. Another good un.

I must admit I hadn't heard much by Dead Man's Shadow but after hearing 'The 4Ps' which has 27 tracks (13 bonus tracks) I will be playing them on a regular basis. This album is quality old school punk and how the band didn't make more of an impact on the punk scene is beyond me. They were formed in 1980 and they split in 1984, saddly never reaching the heights of similar style bands. They have that sound which characterizes punk in the late 1970s. Very rarely do you find an album with so many songs on it that is nearly all good. This is one of them. Raw, aggressive and still melodic.
I thought the best songs on the album were 'Neighbours', 'When Our Blood Is Spilled', 'Don't Be Told', 'Police Force', 'Bomb Scare' and 'Toleration Street' but most of the other songs weren't far behind.

Infa Riot were formed 1979 and although they were only around for five years they released some classic Oi songs. 'The Best Of Infa Riot' is yet another good value album with 20 tracks and the usual informative booklet that comes with it.
The first 2 tracks on the album 'Riot Riot' and 'We Outnumber You' were the first tracks they released (Originally released on the 'Strength Through Oi' compilation in 1981) and are real classic Oi songs. Heavily influenced by Angelic Upstarts with whom they played their first ever gig it is easy to spot similarities with both bands. Some of the other songs on the album which I thought were the best are 'School's Out', 'Emergency', 'The Drug Squad', 'Boot Boys', 'Friday Oh Friday' and 'Feel The Rage'. This album is a must for any Oi fans.
