'The
Punk Singles Collection' by The Ruts has all the
best songs the band released on it in my opinion. The
band contributed some classic songs in their short but
productive time together. One of the few bands who tried
and succeeded to blend punk and reggae they were always
a favourite of mine. I remember buying the single Babylon's
Burning in 1979 just before I left school and I was
hooked. Unfortunately they were one of the few bands
I never got to see live.
The album is stacked with quality 'In A Rut', 'H-Eyes',
'Babylon's Burning', 'Society', 'Something That I said',
'Give Youth A Chance', 'Jah War', 'I Ain't Sofisticated',
'Staring At The Rude Boys', 'Love In Vain', 'West One
(Shine On Me), 'The Crack', 'Stepping Bondage', 'Lobotomy',
'Rich Bitch', 'Different View' and 'Formula
Eyes'. A great buy.
