'Gott
Mit Uns' is the 4th CD i've reviewed by Destructors
666.This latest offering is a split CDEP with a band
called Radicus. I'd not heard anything by Radicus who
are a young punk/rock band from Peterborough in the
UK. The 3 tracks by them 'Soundcheck', 'Fodder'
and 'FashionXcore' are all excellent. I think
these guys who have an American sound can expect to
do well if they get some airplay and good promotion.
The 3 tracks by Destructors666 'AK47' a reworking
of an old Destructors song (in my opinion better than
the original). 'Kick Out The Jams' and 'Dig
My Grave' are both new songs and both pretty good.
Excellent artwork on cover too. It would be nice to
see an album release by Destructors666 in the near future.

I'd
never heard of Sounds Like Violence who hail from Angelholm
in Sweden but 'With Blood On My Hands' is certainly
a fine debut album. Their songs have a style that will
give them an identity in a market where so much is too
similar to distinguish differences. The songs are all
sung as if the singer is reliving his past, a loveless
past filled with sadness and rage. From the 1st track
'Nothing' to the 12th and last 'The Greatest'
the quality never drops. I found it hard to pick a favourite
song because this is such a good album but I thought 'Changes',
'Glad I'm Losing You' and 'Favourite Son'
just edged it for me. There is aggression in the songs
but I wouldn't say it's punk, in fact I found it hard
to catagorise, but who gives a shit as long as their music
is good.

'C'monletmeseeyoupogo'
is the 2nd album i've reviewed by Billy No Mates who are
a solo project by Duncan Redmonds who some of you might
know from Snuff. As well as the vocals, Duncan a real
Jack of all trades also does the drums, guitar, bass and
keyboards on this excellent album. In my opinion this
is even better than 'We Are Legion' his previous release.
This fast as fuck old school punk might even get you up
for a bit of pogoing as the title suggests. Of the 16
tracks on the album it's mostly all good especially 'It's
Done', 'Split', 'Sick Of It', and
'Turn The Page' which are all great tracks. Billy
No Mates have their own sound which is all Duncan's work
and I would like to see what they sound like live with
other musicians playing the songs. Quality all the way.

The
'Boys And Girls In America' album by New York
City based band The Hold Steady is the first stuff i've
heard by these guys. Not really my cup of tea this and
the 11 songs are a real mish mash of different styles.
Some of their songs do have a raw edge but in my opinion
they would be better served by taking the keyboards out
of the equasion for these type of songs. This is definitely
an uncategoriseable album with Rock, Ballad and punky
tracks and i'm not sure which musical path these guys
are trying to tread. If they followed a rock/punk path
and dropped the keyboards which are actually detracting
from their sound, they might appeal to a more specific
listener. Songs like 'Stuck Between Stations',
'Chips Ahoy' are basically ok but the whining
keyboard really spoilt this album for me.
