I have seen G.B.H. live many times live and played on the same bill as them when I was in 3CR. The thing with with G.B.H. live is you never how pissed they were going to be. They obviously didn't drink as much when they were in the studio recording 'Punk Junkies' because this is a really good CD. There are some great songs on this CD and it is a welcome re-release (originally released 1996) by Captain Oi. G.B.H. might not be as well known as 'UK Subs' or '999' but when they are on form (And they are on this CD) they are every bit as good.
The CD is fast and furious and sometimes the guitar sounds a bit metally but G.B.H. are definately as one of their singles says 'Punk As Fuck'. From the first track 'Junkies' to the last
'Punk Rock Ambulance' it really moves at speed.
My own personal favourites off the CD are 'Junkies', 'Don't Drag Me Back', 'Break The Chains' and 'Enzo'. Even some of the so called 'New punk generation' will like G.B.H. because it will appeal to both old-school and new punks alike. A really well produced CD and it gets my vote.

AHOY CD 250 G.B.H. "PUNK JUNKIES"

'Stop The world' by Red Flag 77 is a great CD in the traditional punk mode. There are bits that have that 'Ruts' feel to it and there is the occasional bit of reggae influence just like with the 'Ruts'.
The CD kicks off with the title track 'Stop The World' which is one of those songs you will find yourself singing along to just like most of the songs on this CD. Their lyrics are also in the tradional punk style. You can see influences in the bands songs from the 'Ruts' in 'Something To Say' and the 'Clash' in some songs too. The 'Clash' cover of 'What's my Name' is a good attempt and a bit faster too. There is plenty of energy in 'Red Flag's' music and you will find yourself tapping more than just your feet.
I was hard pressed to pick a favourite song off the CD because it is such a good album. I myself thought 'Cold Wind', 'Back To The Wall' and 'Black + White' are the best tracks off the CD but only just. If it had been released on vinyl I probably would probably have worn out the grooves by now and i've only had it a while. It is well produced and gets a definate thumbs up from me on all counts.

Track Listing: 1. Stop The World 2. Moving On Top 3. Time Has Been Called 4. Drinking On My Own 5. Something To Say 6. There Ya Go 7. Cold Wind 8. Back To The Wall. 9. Whats My Name 10. Shutdown 11. Are You With Me 12. On The Line 13. Black + White

AHOY CD 249 RED FLAG 77 "STOP THE WORLD"

I wasn't too sure about this CD. 'Psycho' by Gold Blade is a bit of a mish mash. The first song on the CD is the title track 'Psycho' which I must admit is a great song and really well produced. The next two tracks 'Black Elvis' and 'AC/DC' are both live from St. Petersburg and give you a feel of what Gold Blade sound like on stage. Not the best produced live versions I have heard though. The next track is also live from Blackpool this time. 'Hairstyle' is much better produced and not bad at all.
The Last two tracks on the CD are both covers of the Gold Blade song 'Strictly Hardcore'. The first is by a band called OUTL4W who are 4 11 year olds. Believe it or not this is a great cover and forget about the singer's voice not having broken yet. The version by Buzzbomb isn't a bad effort too.
