My
most regular contributors Destructors 666 are back yet
again with another CD. 'Biberati Ut Gothi' is
their most recent offering and it's another split CD,
this time split with Norwich's Fletch Cadillac. I have
always liked split CDs as it shows collaboration between
the bands and Destuctors 666 have released several I have
reviewed. I was impressed by the first three tracks which
are by Fletch Cadillac, a band who are completely new
to me. Touted as horror punk the songs are raw with the
occasional switch to psychobilly.
With the three tracks from Destructors it's back to their
usual style after the style change on their last split
CD. 'Forces Of Law' a new take on an old Destuctors
number is good but the two new songs 'White Light/White
Heat' and 'Axles Of Evil' are excellent.
A well produced CD with the usual good artwork.

I
have seen Jon Crocker twice live recently, one of these
being the SAS 3 dayer last month and enjoyed both shows
he played. Jon who hails from California has released
'7 Days, 6 Nights' a thought provoking album
which bears in parts similarities to some of Bob Dylan's
early work. Being a songwriter myself I have always liked
songs with good lyrical content and that can certainly
be said about this seven track CD. Musically this isn't
just your average folk CD, there are classical influences
too. There is one song for each day of the week and the
songs themselves deal passionately with a whole range
of emotions from the fear of failiure to celebration.
This guy is also a fine musician and you can see he puts
his heart and soul into his music. It's well produced
and a credit to the folk genre.

Well
this album has been a while coming but was it worth the
wait? The answer is definitely yes. There are a few new
versions of old favourites 'Three Piece Suit', 'Surf'
and 'F.U.V.M' but the eleven new tracks
are rock solid, packed with the aggression and power that
makes Billyclub one of the best live acts on the circuit.
It's very hard to put across on CD just how good they
are live but they have gone as near as it's possible to
achieve this. 'No Justice' is pure quality through
and through and for me there aren't any negatives because
it's all good stuff. My personal favourite is 'One
Way' which will have crowds joining in at gigs everywhere
but the title track, 'Changing Times' and
'Fuckin' Hate You' push it close. One of the best
CDs i've heard this year.

'Skateboarding
Down Merlins Hill Wth Penny Harry' is the new split
CD with six tracks by Picture Frame Seduction (PFS) and
seven tracks by True Sounds Of The Revolution. Of the
six tracks by PFS just the one was new to me 'Rebellion',
the other five can be found on their 'Sex War' album which
I enjoyed. When later versions of songs are released you
would always expect them to be better or for me there
isn't any point in releasing them. Saddly the songs are
far better produced on 'Sex War' which is strange considering
both albums are on Cultjam Records. The poor production
(mainly lacking volume) also affected the quality of the
songs by True Sounds Of The Revolution which lacked power
even at full volume. That was a shame because a few of
their songs with good production especially 'Where's
My Revolution' have potential.
