Another
four CDs by re-released by Captain Oi, this time the bulk
of Sham 69's albums, one of the forerunners of the punk
scene in the UK. Most of you punks who were around to
see the rise of Sham 69 might still have the vinyls lying
around somewhere but these CDs give you a chance to hear
the best of the boys without that crackly noise.
The first of these CDs 'Tell Us The Truth' (originally
released in 1977) was the album that started the ball
rolling for for Jimmy Pursey and Sham. It has some previously
unheard Demos amongst the bonus tracks of which there
are eight in total. This is Sham at the outset with songs
like 'George Davis Is Innocent', 'Borstal
Breakout' and 'I'm A Man, I'm A Boy' making
up a total of 21 tracks. An excellent album.
The second of these re-releases by Captain Oi is 'That's
Life' |

(originally
released in 1978) has some other old favourites by Sham
such as 'Hurry Up Harry', 'Sunday Morning
Nightmare' and the classic 'Angels With Dirty
Faces'. It also has three bonus tracks and is another
gem of an album from the chirpy Cockneys.
The third of these album re-releases is 'The Adventures
Of Hersham Boys' (originally released in 1979) and
features the songs 'Joey's On The Street Again',
'Hersham Boys' and 'Questions And Answers'.
There were originally just 10 tracks on the album but
with bonus tracks Captain Oi have doubled the tracks on
this album to 20. Yet another great album by Sham.
The fourth and final re-release on the Captain Oi label
by Sham 69 is 'The Game' (originally released
in 1980). Songs |
